The El Dorado County Fair and Event Center is dedicated to upholding a vibrant, accessible, year-round facility that eagerly welcomes, benefits, and educates the diverse community of El Dorado County. It ensures everyone has the opportunity to participate in enriching and educational experiences that celebrate our shared and rich heritage.

Board Responsibilities & Governance

  • Strategic Oversight: They set the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals, ensuring alignment with its purpose of providing a vibrant year‑round facility and educational fair programming.

  • Governance & Policy: Board members establish policies, maintain legal and financial compliance, and ensure the organization operates within a 501(c)(3) framework.

  • Hiring & Advising the CEO: While daily operations are managed by the CEO (currently Kathy Dunkak), the board provides oversight, guidance, and support in leadership decisions.
